Hi everyone and welcome to my very first podcast episode. I am your host Tabitha Frost from tabithafrost.com and this is the Pinteresting Mom Podcast Episode number 1! In this episode I want you all to learn more about me and what has led me to this chapter in my life of creating a podcast about Pinterest.
LISTEN TO THE PINTERESTING MOM PODCAST
Who is the Pinteresting Mom?
First off, I want to thank each and every one of you for listening and taking the time out of your day to learn more about Pinterest.
The Pinteresting Mom Podcast will cover a variety of topics which include blogging, web development and design, SEO, freelancing, mom life, side hustles and most importantly, Pinterest.
Be sure to check out my FREE Pinterest Webinar at tabithafrost.com if you want to learn the basics of Pinterest and how to use it to leverage your business. It is a 20 minute presentation so it is completely do-able in a short amount of time. But don’t worry, we will be covering these topics in more detail on this podcast at some point as well.
I will also be interviewing some amazing guests in the fields of content marketing, social media, tv media and so much more! I am really excited for what is to come on the Pinteresting Mom Podcast.
Ok so more about me: I am a mom of three and my journey as a mom has led me up to this point. It all began in 2013 when I started a blog called All Natural & Good. That is allnaturalandgood.com.
My husband has a background in web development and he basically handed this site to me and I hit the ground running with it! I was pregnant with my oldest at the time and I was becoming more curious about the chemicals we put in and on our bodies and that is where I found inspiration for creating content for All Natural & Good.
Here’s the deal, I have absolutely NO education in marketing what-so-ever, so if you think you do not have what it takes to become a mompreneur or boss of your own, it is entirely not true. I am here to tell you all that you can do ANYTHING. Please don’t let that imposter syndrome take over.
My background is actually in Child and Family Development and I have my bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University. My dream was to become a mom so pursuing a career in Early Childhood Education was right up my alley.
I can say at least my degree wasn’t a total waste because I was a stay-at-home mom for 5 years; however, most of my parenting skills (or lack there of) have come from my own experiences as a mom and not because of my degree. I mean, we all do not know what the heck we are talking about until we actually become a mom, right?
So more about that blog of mine. When I started blogging, I was getting more than 80% of my website traffic from Pinterest. I had already been using Pinterest since it launched 10 years ago in 2010 but I was also using it for my blog.
Since that time, I am STILL getting more than 80% of my website traffic from Pinterest. Despite the recent algorithm changes (which we will discuss on a future episode), my traffic remains steady. Let me point out that I am active on the platform every single day, so there is work involved in sustaining this, but very little work – I’m talking less than three hours a week.
Throughout the years as a blogger I have done some freelance work, sponsored content with brands, affiliate marketing and paid content writing which encompasses many elements of blogging and making a living as a blogger. It is literally my job.
In my journey of becoming a freelancer, I had been approached numerous times about Pinterest marketing. That is when a light bulb went off in my head that there is a demand for this and I have what it takes. I had that experience and passion for Pinterest. It is now where most of my time is spent and is my monthly Pinterest management is actually my most popular service.
Also, one of my most favorite freelance jobs was actually working for Tailwind. If you don’t know who they are, Tailwind is a Pinterest-approved smart scheduling tool. I actually use their service for both Pinterest and Instagram and I also use it for ALL of my Pinterest clients. If you want to give Tailwind a try, they have a Tailwind free trial for both Pinterest and Instagram and my referral link will give you one month free.
While working with the Pinterest marketing team for Tailwind, I created 750 pins for 50 blogs in a matter of a few weeks – which was the most pins I had ever created in that time frame.
I have since taken on many clients for monthly Pinterest management including artists, photographers, bloggers, service providers and e-commerce brands. I manage the Pinterest accounts for my clients and handle everything from the pin creations using Canva Pro to monthly strategizing.
With all of the growth I’ve created for my clients, the positive feedback and amazing reviews I have received, I feel like I am completely worthy of the Pinterest expert title. So here I am.
I am also an active part of the Pinterest and Tailwind communities and I am constantly learning and staying up to date on Pinterest best practices and trends.
My most recent exciting venture was speaking at a large conference for creators called Alt Summit and that was definitely a turning point for me in my career. Thanks Alt Summit for inspiring me to want to create this podcast!
That is basically the story about me in a nutshell and how I came to be the Pinteresting Mom.
So what can you expect to learn from this podcast? Whether you are using Pinterest personally or for your business, you will probably start to look at it in a totally different way. If you have a blog, business, product or anything you want to market to the world, you are on the right track by listening to this podcast.
Or if you’re a mom (or soon to be mom) looking for your next side hustle, I hope you find some inspiration here.
